Be a safe online shopper this Christmas

Free online safety advice for Christmas shoppers is on offer at an upcoming event in Crawley.

If you want to learn about how to stay safe online, drop in to the stand in the County Mall Shopping Centre (Lower Level, outside Boots) on Saturday 1 December between 10am and 4pm.

The event is run by West Sussex County Council’s Community Safety & Wellbeing Team with Get Safe Online and other partners including NatWest Bank, Sussex Police Engagement Team and Sussex Police Cadets.

People can learn how to be more secure when shopping online and hear tips for using a smartphone or tablet when buying your Christmas gifts.

Debbie Kennard, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Safer, Stronger Communities, said: “Amongst all the excitement of Christmas shopping it is important to remember to stay secure, especially when buying presents online.

“So I would really encourage anyone out and about in Crawley to drop in and make the most of this helpful advice.”

The event is taking place at County Mall Shopping Centre, Southgate Avenue, Crawley RH10 1FG.
