Key landmarks of Chichester

The city dates from the time of the Roman invasion, evidenced by remains of baths which are preserved under the Novium Museum, which was built in 2012. Stane Street, now the A29 to London, has long straight stretches so redolent of Roman Roads.

The city is home to the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre, which stages a wealth of productions starring household names, and its 11th century cathedral stands close to the centre and the Cross, built in 1501, which stands at the intersection of the four main roads which bisect the city.

There are many fun things to do, with a cinema, trampoline park, leisure centre; all in one area! There are also many restaurants, so this is a good place to head on a rainy day.

The city’s harbour is beautiful and offers many scenic views. You can also take a boat ride up the canal if you fancy!
