Independent workplace compliance specialist Assurity Consulting is marking its 40th anniversary with continued business growth, investment in technology and a strengthened leadership team as demand for specialist compliance expertise continues to increase across the UK. The company has grown to a turnover of over £8 million.
The Horsham-headquartered business, which joined the Celnor Group in 2024, has grown into one of the UK’s leading independent workplace, health, safety and environmental compliance consultancies, employing more than 90 people and delivering more than 80 specialist services spanning health and safety, fire, water, asbestos, air quality, environmental management and workplace risk.
Growth and new services investment
During the last financial year alone, Assurity Consulting increased turnover to £8 million, representing 8% year-on-year growth, while continuing to invest significantly in new services, digital technology and technical expertise. The business expects further growth during 2026 and beyond as organisations place greater emphasis on compliance, risk management and workplace performance.
Since opening its doors, Assurity Consulting has supported organisations across more than 10,000 premises, with over 6.3 million inspections, tests and samples completed during the last decade alone.
Investment in technology has been a key driver of growth and this month the business has launched its groundbreaking new Assurity Plus 2.0 water management software, a digital water management platform to give organisations greater visibility of compliance activities, strengthen data integrity and support more proactive risk management across portfolios.
Alongside technology, the company has continued to strengthen its technical capability. It remains the only organisation with UKAS accreditation covering site sampling, transportation and laboratory analysis through its own in-house laboratory, while its consultants are recognised specialists across fire safety, Legionella management, occupational health and safety, environmental management and access consultancy.
Shaping industry standards
Assurity Consulting has also helped shape standards across the wider industry. Its specialists have contributed guidance for organisations including CIBSE and IWFM, delivered professional training for IOSH, IIRSM and CIBSE, and provided expert witness services in significant workplace compliance cases.
The business entered its latest phase of development following its acquisition by Celnor Group in December 2023. Celnor Group is a leading UK investor in entrepreneur-led businesses in the Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) sector and Assurity Consulting joined their growing Safety and Compliance division.
A new board, drawn from within the existing leadership team, assumed responsibility in January 2025, while members of the management team also became shareholders, combining continuity for clients with investment to support future growth.
Keith Vigar, Managing Director of Assurity Consulting, said: “Celebrating 40 years is an important milestone, and we’re even more excited about what comes next. Our business has continued to grow because organisations increasingly value independent advice they can trust to protect their people, property and reputation. We’ve invested significantly in our people, technical capability and digital platforms and that puts us in a strong position for the future. Workplace compliance continues to become more complex, creating greater demand for evidence-based advice, innovative technology and trusted long-term partners. Our partnership with Celnor also brings direct benefits to our customers. From investment in new technology and employee training to support for innovation in anticipation of customer needs. It provides a strong platform for our future success.”
‘Genuinely independent advice’
After four decades of expansion, the business continues to operate around the principle on which it was founded in 1986: providing clients with genuinely independent technical advice. That approach has created exceptional levels of customer loyalty. Today, 47 clients have worked with Assurity Consulting for more than 20 years, while around three quarters of annual revenue comes from existing customers.
As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, Assurity Consulting expects demand for independent workplace compliance expertise to remain strong, with further investment planned across technology, specialist services and people as the business enters its fifth decade.
