Coronavirus Update: As of 16 March, activities organised by HSCP are continuing as normal, but we ask everyone to take sensible measures which are right for yourselves and the other members, recognising that some amongst us are especially at risk.
If you have any symptoms (dry cough, fever, headache) or consider that there is a risk you have come into contact with the virus, please stay at home. If you stay at home, please let us know so that we can keep in touch with you. If you come to activities please bring hand gel for your personal use if you have it, and make use of the hand washing facilities excessively! We are installing paper towel dispensers by all sinks at Shipley, and soap is there. Please don’t hold back on using them!
Elbow punch instead of shaking hands or hugging and please catch sneezes/coughs in tissues before disposing and washing hands. You might choose to bring your own tea/coffee mug. Let’s stay safe and look out for each other. We will continue to monitor so please look out for further correspondence. Thank you.
Walking Football : The consensus was to halt Tuesday sessions for now. There is lots everyone can do at home to stay fit and strong, ready for when we resume! Mike has arranged a number of friendly matches through the Summer, we will monitor and cancel / postpone if necessary.
Veterans Football : The league has suspended matches for the time, and Horsham FC has stopped evening bookings at the club until 4 April. This has forced our decision that we to stop Wednesday evening training until further notice.
Men’s Shed : The Shed will be closed from Thursday 19th this week. Please keep in touch through text and email.
Pétanque : Pétanque will be continuing at the moment. It is an outdoor activity and players can stay at a safe distance at all times. Players do not share equipment and can bring their own flask of coffee. The toilet can be opened and there is anti-bac soap and paper towels installed. We will continue to monitor and let you know any change in this decision.
South Downs Way Challenge : At this time the SDW is postponed because we cannot arrange logistics for the 24 people registered without some degree of lift share. Either the challenge will be postponed until later in the year, or we will delay until Spring 2021. We will let you know.
Health Walks : We will continue with the local Health Walks for the time being on the basis that people can get themselves to the start point, and can walk at a safe distance.
Green Project : Philip and Richard (Reg) will be at the site most Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so if you feel like some exercise and doing a bit of digging / mowing / weeding then do come down! The site is huge so plenty of space for people to spread out!! If you plan to come please give Philip or Richard a call / text first just to make sure their plans have not changed.
Let’s all keep in touch and support each other. Keep an eye on emails and don’t forget our Facebook page www.facebook.com/HorshamShipleyCommunityProject/
