Sussex Green Living environmental meetings
There are many environmental solutions that could be implemented, Sussex Green Living believes that people need to be more aware of problems in order solve them. At their January Sussex Green Ideas Zoom meeting on 19th January, the parish councillors and district councillors agreed with this statement.
More environmental projects have been taking place throughout West Sussex recently. Sussex Green Living have appealed to enable collaboration between villages in West Sussex, the district council and Sussex Green Living.
Next meeting will be a Sussex Green Ideas Zoom meeting on Wednesday 16th March, people can bring items to the meeting they have questions about.
Sussex Green Hub
On 29th January Sussex Green Living held a climate hub in Horsham. The Horsham Community Fridge advertised that they were giving away free food which brought different people into the hub who, after selecting food items, were given a tour around the hub and encouraged to use their community café.
Horsham Repair Café
Carbon clinic sessions were being offered at their Horsham Repair Café, they hope that at the next Sussex Green Hub on 26th February, more people will take advantage of the clinic which offers people advice on lifestyle so that they can make green changes to reduce their carbon footprint.
People can also learn about generating clean energy through Community Energy Horsham in the clinic, as well as ways to reduce energy in the home or use clean renewable energy.
Plastic bottle top recycling
Sussex Green Living collects milk bottle tops through drop off locations in Horsham, Amberley, Barns Green, Billingshurst, Cowfold, Henfield, Horsham, Itchingfield, Nuthurst, Pulborough, Rudgwick, Slinfold, Southwater, Steyning, Storrington, Warnham, Kingsfold, Coneyhurst and Thakeham.
The milk bottle tops are taken to be recycled and benefit the Springboard Project in Horsham. Green Living are now having to courier the bottle tops at their own cost and are asking for corporate sponsorships to help cover costs.
Take plastic back to the supermarket
People can take single use plastics back to supermarkets. This table (mcusercontent.com) shows the hard plastics that people who live in West Sussex can put in their council bin and the waste resources people can donate to Sussex Green Living through their 17 village/town drop off locations.
