Flytippers fined £200 each for “eyesore” rubbish piles
Two people have been fined £200 each for flytipping a pile of black bags filled with waste and other unwanted items at Eastbourne United Football Club car park.
The two culprits are believed to have illegally dumped the mounds of rubbish there on 7 May 2021.
Eastbourne Borough Council’s Neighbourhood First team investigated the site at the Oval in Channel View Road and identified the pair responsible.

Councillors and volunteers help keep Eastbourne tidy
Litter-pickers were out in force in Eastbourne as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s national Great British Spring Clean campaign.
Councillor David Tutt, Leader of Eastbourne Borough Council, organised the events and the council’s Neighbourhood First team provided the litter-picking equipment while Environment First disposed of the waste.
More than eight bags full of rubbish were collected from a clean-up at Archery Recreation Ground and the same amount at Langney Green in Etchingham Road.
