Families in Mid Sussex can enjoy a family day of horsey fun on the 14th July from 10am to 5pm during a charity Open Day at Horsham & Mid Sussex Equestrian Academy.
The riding academy, based in Albourne West Sussex, is opening its gates to the public free of charge and encouraging families to get into horse riding. They will be offering lead rein pony rides for children for just £5 and special offers for adults to Take up the Reins.
Families will enjoy a host of equestrian-themed activities, including a scavenger hunt and crafts, a raffle with fantastic prizes, all cumulating in a dramatic jumping competition where the jumps get higher and higher! Potential riders will also be able to speak to the qualified staff to help overcome nerves of riding along with a tour of the yard and grooming stations where they can get up close to meet the horses and ponies.
The event will raise money for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity – the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton – and the Court Meadow RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) – who provide riding as a therapy for young students with learning difficulties and special needs.
