Headway Sussex is delighted to share a significant fundraising success and a deeply meaningful moment for the charity, following an appearance on ITV’s Celebrity Catchphrase.
Broadcaster, presenter and voiceover artist Kemi Rodgers recently took part in the popular television game show Celebrity Catchphrase, where she chose to play for Headway Sussex. Her appearance resulted in an incredible £5,000 raised in support of the charity’s work with people affected by brain injury across Sussex.
Family connection
During the programme, Kemi spoke movingly about Headway Sussex and the personal connection her family has with the charity. She shared how the organisation supported her father following his brain injury, highlighting the vital role specialist services play in recovery and long term support. By sharing her story on a national platform, Kemi helped raise awareness of the challenges faced by brain injury survivors and the importance of accessible, specialist support services. This visibility is invaluable in helping more people understand life after brain injury and ensuring individuals and families know where to turn for help.
Helping people to rebuild
Headway Sussex is extremely grateful to Kemi for her generosity, openness and advocacy. The funds raised will directly support the charity’s ongoing work across Sussex, helping people rebuild independence, confidence and connection within their communities.
A spokesperson for Headway Sussex said: “We are incredibly thankful to Kemi for choosing to support us and for speaking so openly about her family’s experience. The funds raised will make a real and lasting difference to the people we support every day.”
