Storrington Remembrance Parade 2025

This year, the Storrington Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 9th November.

The future of the Storrington Remembrance Sunday Parade looked uncertain. The Sunday Parade Organiser had organised the event so the community could come together to honour those who served. They funded the parade from the required public liability insurance (PLI) from an inheritance left by their grandfather, who served during WWII – but that money has now run out. Previous appeals for donations received no response. Without PLI, the council cannot grant the road closures the parade relies on.

However in September of this year it was confirmed that the Remembrance Day Parade would definitely be going ahead and that the insurance was firmly in place.
As in previous years, the Parish Council will support the event by organising the road closure and contributing to the event planning. Parish councillors with other volunteers will be at the event as marshal as well as supporting with arrangements from set-up to road sign management.

This is a very important day for the villagers, especially for the Guides, Scouts and Cadets who are proud to take part.

These are the timings that have been circulated so far, but please keep an eye out for any chances that may be communicated by the organisers.

14:20 – Muster at bus stand behind Waitrose
14:35 – Parade to form
14:40 – Parade to depart towards church
14:50 – Parade to arrive outside church
14:55 – Service to begin

There will be separate children’s activities held in the Old School opposite the church, which will last for the duration of the main service.
