Exhibitions at Colonnade House

Have a go at playing a guitar crafted from an old coffee tin, check out some playful prints and graphic zines, and take an intimate look into the minds of local artists through their sketchbooks.

Salvage Sounds – 3rd to 7th September 2019
Family-run, alternative luthier Salvage Sounds are bringing their musical creations back
to Colonnade House for the third time this September. Using found objects and upcycled
materials such as old cigar boxes and license plates, their eclectic designs are always
functional, playable art pieces in their own right.

Walter Wall – 3rd to 14th September 2019
Walter Wall captures atmosphere and the energy of process through his expressive
paintings. Using paint-throwing techniques, his work is vibrant, dynamic and perfectly
conveys his passion for creating in a quick and unrestricted way.

Worthing Light Festival – 10th to 14th September 2019
Worthing Light Festival is a display of stunning, sustainable art installations that are lit by
renewable energy on Worthing’s East Beach. The 48-hour-non-stop event is free and
accessible to all. Come and learn more about the festival at this preview exhibition at
Colonnade House.

Marko: Loooook – 17th to 22nd Septemb

er 2019
Marko is a bold and playful printmaker, sculptor, zine-maker and
everything-in-between-maker, who blurs the lines between childlikeness and
sophistication with his unique use of graphic shapes and colours. Come and have a
loooook!

Sketch Worthing – 17th to 22nd September 2019
‘Sketch Worthing’ is a competition that invites local artists to submit a sketchbook that
reflects their creative process’. The competition will culminate in an exhibition at
Colonnade House that will provide insight and generate discussion around the intimate
space where an artist develops their ideas.

Shona Macdonald: Crow – 24th September to 6th October 2019

‘Crow’ is a selection of recent collagraph prints, painting, charcoal and sculpture by Shona
Macdonald. Providing an insight into her growing intrigue with this marginalised and
mythologically symbolic creature, the exhibition is a celebration of its intelligence,
presence, beauty and mystery.

 

Karren Urben – 24th September to 6th October 2019
Karren Urben is a landscape and portrait painter who will be exhibiting her latest works
this September. Having previously trained with acclaimed artist Daniel Greene and
painted the likes of Councillor Carol Theobald, her recent work is largely inspired by the
rural landscapes she discovered upon relocating to Ferring.

printmakers, sculptors and photographers. On the ground floor there are two gallery
spaces, and on the upper three floors are ten studios available to rent to people working
in the creative industries.
