Practical help for Arundel residents during the pandemic

Arundel Square

There are two services available to all Arundel residents in need of help during this crisis, both working through St Nicholas Parish Office and supported by the Town Council.

Arundel Community Aid

In these exceptional times there may be people in our community who find themselves struggling to provide food for their families. Arundel Community Aid has been set up to try to meet this need, working alongside the Arundel Community Support Hub based in St. Nicholas Parish Office. If you need an emergency food parcel or other essentials, please do not hesitate to e-mail hello@arundelcommunityaid.co.uk. The service will have its own telephone line in due course, but until then in urgent need telephone the Parish Office on 01903-882262.

Food collection baskets for donations to Arundel Community Aid and other local charities are located at the Co-op, Hillside Stores, McColls, Post Office, Larkins, Gaskyns and Pallant of Arundel, or donations can be collected from your doorstep. Financial donations can be made via the St. Nicholas Parish Office, 01903-882262.

Do you need food, prescriptions or just a friendly phone call?

The support service for all Arundel residents is in full flow out of the St. Nicholas Parish Office.  There are 175 volunteers on the books, and over 100 residents have been helped so far, some of them on multiple occasions, with shopping, collecting prescriptions or just with a friendly phone call. Fiona Maxwell, the Parish Administrator, has observed how volunteers are happy to be able to give time to their fellow residents and how good relationships have been forged. Her own experience has been that whilst hectic it has given her the chance to have amazing conversations with people whom she otherwise might not have spoken to.

To obtain help and support or to donate to the Arundel Support Fund: Call the Parish Office 01903-882262 (Tuesday-Friday 9.30am-3.00pm)
