Flood Warnings issued
From Monday 16th January – Thursday 19th January there’s a low risk of flooding.
It’s likely that a high water table will flood low lying land and roads.
The Environment Agency has issued the following Flood Warnings for:
- Fittleworth on Western Rother
- Havant Town Centre on the Lavant Stream
- Pulborough on the River Arun
- Westhampnett on the River Lavant
- Bersted on the Aldingbourne Rife

Flooding can cause disruption to travel; damage to property; and present some health hazards.
You can keep yourself and your family safe by doing some simple actions:
- Keep up to date with the latest information including by listening to local radio
- Move important items to a higher level if possible
- Prepare an emergency grab bag containing bottled water, warm clothes, medicines and other essential items

Cold Weather Action – Current alert level: Level 3
There is a 90% probability of severe cold weather and icy conditions between 9am on Monday 16th Jan and 9am on Friday 20th Jan in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services. Please refer to the national Cold Weather Plan and your Trust’s emergency plan for appropriate preventive action.
Cold air has spread south across much of the country overnight Sunday into Monday. These conditions persisting through the week across most areas, bringing widespread frost and with daytime temperatures struggling to recover above freezing. Brisk winds, along with spells of wintry showers are also possible, with icy conditions potentially developing.
These mostly where the brisk north to northwesterly winds bring coastal showers inland. There is lower confidence in the longevity of the cold conditions across the southwest, with temperatures potentially recovering later in the week. Confidence is also low with the return of milder conditions from the west into the weekend.
An update will be issued on the Met Office site when the alert level changes in any region. Alerts are issued once a day by 9am if required and are not subject to amendment in between standard issue times. Note that the details of the forecast weather are valid at the time of issue but may change over the period that an alert remains in force.
