The full line up for Wave: Brighton Podcast Festival has been announced. In April 2019, a range of live events will across the major Brighton and Hove venues, allowing audiences to sit in on and enjoy some of the best loved and most popular podcasts, from politics to lifestyle, comedy and music to mystery, via unique live recordings. The podcasts will feature a range of special guests, including Rag N’ Bone Man, and all delving into new material, debate and content, especially for the festival. The shows announced today, including Romesh Ranganathan, Richard Herring and the ‘world’s spookiest podcast’, Unexplained, join talent such as Giovanna Fletcher, No Such Thing as a Fish and Ctl Alt Delete, announced in December.
Romesh Ranganathan’s Hip Hop Saved My Life with Rag N’ Bone Man (13 April, The Old Market)
Romesh Ranganathan brings his hit podcast Hip Hop Saved My Life to Brighton for a one-off special. Romesh will be joined by Brighton’s own Rag’n’Bone Man and his right-hand man RuMaj. As The Guardian says, “If you come to Hip Hop Saved My Life With Romesh Ranganathan expecting nothing but hardcore talk about rap, you’ll be disappointed – in the best way possible. Ranganathan’s consistently great podcast covers a whole lot more.”
Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (except at Brighton Podcast Festival) (3 April, The Old Market) (**two shows: evening and matinee)
‘The Podfather’ (Guardian) and ‘King of the Internet’ (Time Out) brings his award winning podcast to Brighton, chatting with an amazing surprise guest from the city. This groundbreaking podcast won the Bronze Award for Best Comedy at the 2013 Sony Radio Academy Awards and the Chortle Internet Award 2013. 2014 and 2018 and has spawned a brand new book Emergency Questions published by Sphere in October. At over 200 episodes, previous guests have included Stephen Fry, Simon Pegg, Steve Coogan, Stephen Merchant, Dawn French, Maria Bamford and Brian Blessed. Brighton guests will be announced soon.

The Bugle (12 April, Old Market)
A live performance of the global smash-hit podcast The Bugle. Hosted by Andy Zaltzman (with John Oliver from 2007 until 2015, and with a cast of guest co-hosts since its 2016 relaunch), The Bugle is one of this universe’s leading topical podcasts. The show will feature “Andy, live guests, people on screens, freshly-hewn satire, lies, puns and high-grade bullshit”.

No Such Thing as A Fish (2 April, Brighton Dome)
The team behind award-winning podcast No Such Thing As A Fish are hitting the road again in Spring 2019, with their brand new show, ‘In No Particular Order’. Now in its fifth year, No Such Thing As A Fish is at the forefront of the British podcast scene. The team have performed live across the world as well as writing two books and making two series, the hit BBC Two show No Such Thing As The News and releasing a podcast exclusively on vinyl in a fruitless attempt to be on trend. The show will feature a performance of a live, unedited and unscripted podcast, as well as a brand new first half in which the team will talk about the most extraordinary, bizarre and hilarious things they’ve come across in the months since the last tour.
