Beauty and the beast review by Shannon at Sussex Local

Beauty and the beast at worthing theatres

The Sussex Local team went to see Beauty and the Beast: The Pantomime at The Pavilion on the 2nd of December, and the show was amazing!

The visual effects were very well done, leading to seamless transitions, bringing scenes to life and giving characters energy.

The costumes were beautiful and very visually appealing, they fit and represented the characters really well according to the scenes and songs, as well as working for the choreography – which was very well done and coordinated.

The leading couple, Sapphire Elia and Jai McDowall, had absolutely amazing voices during their solos and harmonised beautifully during their duet. Katie Pritchard also had a beautiful voice during her hilarious solo for Dani Hardy’s dance scene.

The Dame, Andre Vincent, and their interactions with other members of the cast and audience members was by far one of the best parts of the show, and as usual the Dame’s outfits were outrageous!

There were most definitely laugh-out-loud moments with the funny duo, Katie Pritchard and Josh Haberfield, who brought most of the humour (along with the Dame) in this classic story!

The audience participation was brilliant, the cast got everybody moving, shouting and laughing!

Pantomimes always make for a good time out with family or friends. For anyone able to get to Worthing this Christmas, I definitely recommend this show.
