Brighton Trail Marathon for Chestnut Tree House
On Sunday 26th June, Dan Mack, age 32, from Brighton, took on the first ever Brighton Trail Marathon to raise funds for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, dressed in full Karate uniform.
The marathon set off from Brighton seafront at 8.30am, and Dan took on 26.2 miles of the South Downs National Park, with six climbs including Brighton Racecourse and Ditchling Beacon.
The Brighton Trail Marathon is not for the faint hearted, and Dan took the challenge to the next level by ditching his running gear for full karate Gi. Before the challenge, Dan said: “It’s definitely going to be a challenge, especially in the June heat and dressed head to toe in thick cotton!”
Dan on raising money in Karate uniform
Dan has been practising karate for over 10 years now and wanted to combine his passion for running and karate to raise money for his local children’s hospice. “I really want to raise as much as possible for Chestnut Tree House. I’m not testing myself purely for fun, so please share my fundraising story and donate whatever you can!
“Chestnut Tree House is such a worthy cause, and one that is close to my family’s hearts.”
