The Council’s business training programme is consistently popular, with topics often being oversubscribed. The training is delivered, for the most part, by locally based independent specialists, further reinforcing the Council’s own ‘Buy Local’ policy.

Over 100 local businesses in the last year have added to their skills and resilience through the programme and continue to benefit from access to an exclusive online training hub. Sessions available now or very soon next year include:

  • First Aid at Work
  • Business management – various
  • Business marketing and sales – various
  • Market Trading.

Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Local Economy Ruth Fletcher would like all local businesses to look at what’s on offer. She commented: “We continue to update and develop our business training programme. Feedback from past participants is that these courses are time well spent both in terms of the content and networking opportunities they offer. Even better, you can sign up for free.”

Horsham District Council’s 2023 -24 Business Training Programme has received £10,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in order to help fund the training programmes.
