Horsham marks Armed Forces Week

The start of Armed Forces Week was marked in Horsham on Monday 24 June 2024 with the Armed Forces Day flag being raised by Horsham District Council Vice Chairman Cllr Tony Bevis at Horsham‘s War Memorial in the town’s Carfax.

On Armed Forces Sunday (30 June) a ‘Veterans’ Village’ will be created in the Carfax area with multiple food and drinks stalls, a variety of military themed stalls and stands and a display of military vehicles from Capel Military Vehicles.

1145 Music Vintage Trio in Veterans’ Village

1215 Army Cadets Display

1230 Music The Free Electric Band on the Bandstand

1300 Music Vintage Trio in Veterans’ Village

1330 Army Cadets Display 2

1345 Music The Free Electric Band on the Bandstand

1430 Muster for Sunset Ceremony

1445 Sunset Ceremony at War Memorial – lowering of Armed Forces flag.

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support and get involved.
