New route along the Glow Wild winter lantern trail
The winter lantern trail is back at Wakehurst, Kew’s wild botanic garden for its ninth year, and it’s packed full of surprises, including a brand-new route.
Forming a glittering haven in the heart of Sussex, Wakehurst’s award-winning winter lantern trail Glow Wild returns for 2022. As darkness falls, the gardens are brought to life with hand-crafted lanterns and light installations created by artists.
This year, Glow Wild celebrates the spectrum of colours in nature, inviting you to explore how people see colour and the role it plays in daily lives. Kew’s wild botanic gardens is transformed with dazzling bespoke installations, reflections on the water, and trees lit up in thousands of jewel-tone lanterns on a never-before-seen route.
This new route along the trail goes through the landscape with eleven bespoke light installations which cannot be seen anywhere else. This year’s theme celebrates the incredible colour spectrum of the natural world, inviting winter wanderers to explore how we see colour and the role it plays in our daily lives.
As the trail draws to an end, gather with friends and family around crackling firepits to enjoy warming food and drink.
