Fresh vegetables with measuring tape on the table. Healthy eating concept

The Chichester Wellbeing team is launching a programme of ‘Move it and Lose it’ workshops to help residents lose weight, get fit, and lead a healthier lifestyle in the new year.

The workshops are led by a Registered Nutritional Therapist and involve giving advice and information on eating a healthy diet for life.

The whole 13-week course costs £30 and includes a free taster session.

The workshops start on the following dates:

·         Tuesday 14th January from 6.30 – 8.00pm at Westgate Leisure Chichester

·         Wednesday 15th January from 10 – 11.30am at Westgate Leisure Chichester

·         Thursday 16th January from 9.45 – 11.15am at The Grange, Midhurst

·         Thursday, 16th January from 1 – 2.30pm at The Selsey Centre

Workshops include an optional exercise class for all abilities from a friendly Everyone Active instructor.

“The New Year is a time when many of us look to make lifestyle changes that will help improve our health and wellbeing,” says Councillor Roy Briscoe, Cabinet Member for Community Services and Culture. “Our Move it and Lose workshops focus on healthy eating, nutrition, exercise and education to help people sustain a healthy lifestyle and support those who want to lose weight.

“We have received lots of positive feedback from people who have completed the course. One person told us that they took part in these sessions with the aim of losing a bit of weight and felt they needed support to achieve this. She was delighted to have lost three inches on her waist, hips and bust and says she now feels much healthier, both physically and emotionally. She added that the course was well run and the support given was very clear and easy to put into practice.”

Residents can sign up or for more information about Move it and Lose it by contacting Chichester Wellbeing on 01243 521041 or emailing info@chichesterwellbeing.org.uk.
