“All About the Jewels” specialise in 1920s – 1990s vintage and antique costume jewellery and watches. A genuine treasure trove, the shop opened in early 2021 in the picturesque Sussex village of Alfriston.
A family-run business, All About the Jewels strive to find unusual and rare costume jewellery, varying in periods from beautiful Victorian pieces through to 1990’s vintage costume.
They hold a huge selection of jewellery in store including a large amount of designer pieces.

Owner and shop manager Shanie Anderson told us, “We hunt for exquisite quality items but with the goal to bring them to our customers at a reasonable price. Our motto is ‘Beauty should be available to Everyone’. We source all of our jewellery from respectable antiques dealers, auction houses and markets all over Europe, giving us the opportunity to find a wide range of beautiful and unique pieces.”
All About the Jewels entered the Antiques trade some 20 years ago, travelling to find superb pieces of carnival glass, fine pottery and rare porcelain but as time changed and fashions move forward they started to specialise in Antique and Costume jewellery which is where they have stayed and grown. “We take frequent requests from our regular customers and if you are struggling to find something specific, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will do our very best to help.”
Shanie continues; “Specialising in jewellery has given us a rare insight into some of the most artistic and wonderful pieces available and our aim is always to deliver an excellent standard of jewellery but at an affordable price.” They buy from private individuals too, and encourage anyone with something to sell to pop in for a free valuation.
Conveniently located next to a free car park in North Street – once parked, you will spot the distinctive green roof of their charming shop. They have an outside seating area and passers-by are encouraged to stop a while in their decked garden beside the shop.
