Event Short Description

Vindication Swim screening at The Dome Cinema Worthing from 7th of March

Event Information

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the much-anticipated biopic Vindication Swim which dives into the extraordinary life of Mercedes Gleitze, who in 1927 became the first British woman to swim the English Channel, is coming to Worthing.

On the 7th of March there will be an exclusive preview screening at The Dome Cinema, with a post-screening Q&A featuring award-winning writer/director Elliott Hasler alongside lead actors Kirsten Callaghan and John Locke (Poor Things, Darkest Hour, The Favourite).

From the 8th of March, Vindication Swim, which author Peter James described as “genuinely one of the most compelling, engaging and enjoyable films I’ve seen in a long while”, will be playing a run at the Dome. Tickets are selling fast, so book now to avoid disappointment!

The Dome screenings will bring Mercedes Gleitze back to Worthing almost a century after she completed a mammoth 47 hour endurance swim at the town’s Heen Road Baths.
