Start time: 18:30 The second in a series of Folk concerts following the success of the one with The Copper Family Bing Lyle, Tina & Vic Smith, performing as The Larks, have been involved in folk song and dance in Sussex for over 50 years. Their concert follows naturally on from the previous one by the Copper Family as it extends the picture from Rottingdean to include songs and tunes learned mainly at first hand from singers and musicians that they met when they first came to Sussex. Their programme will include tunes learned from other traditional singers and musicians from other parts of Sussex; tunes from Scan Tester – songs from George Belton, Johnny Doughty, George Spicer, The Willett family and others. There will also be tunes and songs from old manuscript sources and a couple of songs written by Bing to emphasise the continuity of this type of music making in Sussex.
