Event Information

At 2:30pm on Tuesday 14th December, Bernard Lockett will talk about “The Heritage of Gilbert & Sullivan”.

He will give a background assessment and consideration of the shows & genre. Participants will discover the reasons for the huge amount of social and political satire within the shows, with a wry look at how much is relevant today. Finally, Bernard will consider the world-wide appeal of Gilbert & Sullivan in the 21st Century and modern production values.

Bernard is a Trustee of the International G&S Festival and also a Trustee of the Festival’s National G&S Opera Company. He has been a speaker on G&S for over ten years to many diverse groups and organisations.
