Event Date:
Start time: 10:00 Rosemary Jones is an artist specialising in linocut printmaking. The main focus of Rosemary’s prints on paper is the landscape of the Downs in West Sussex and views around Worthing where she lives. All of the prints are original handmade linocuts, made with real ink, on real paper, on a real press. Each print is unique because it is entirely made by hand. Rosemary also makes prints on fabric, using linocut blocks, and what started as something different to do during lockdown has become another facet of her work, namely making lampshades from linocut block printed fabric. She also runs workshops to introduce others to this process, in her studio at home and elsewhere with an introduction to block cutting, simple repeat patterns, inking the lock and printing onto a small section of fabric. During the exhibition you will be able to see demonstrations of block cutting with lino tools, printing on to fabric and making lampshades. The lamps in the exhibition have all been handmade by her husband, Shane, in his workshop in Worthing.
