Turner during this unique evening event A Turner Art Escape at Petworth House and the exhibition Frank Auerbach: Unseen at a local gallery. Experience the work of landscape painter J.M.W. Turner (1775 – 1851) during this late opening of Petworth House. Turner was a regular guest of the 3rd Earl of Egremont and you can see 19 of his paintings on display, including commissioned works of Petworth Park framed by Grinling Gibbons carvings. Admire the artwork and look to the view Turner painted, as the music of a String duo fills the State Rooms. There are also highlight talks on Turner, along with a free welcome drink and a pay-for bar. For this event they have partnered with Newlands Gallery in Petworth who are hosting the Frank Auerbach: Unseen exhibition and your ticket includes admission to this.
