Start time: 13:00 Garden open in aid of National Garden Scheme charities 10th September Exciting prairie garden of approximately 8 acres planted in the naturalistic style using 60,000 plants and over 1,600 different varieties. A colourful garden featuring a huge variety of unusual ornamental grasses. Expect layers of colour, texture and architectural splendour. Surrounded by mature oak trees with views of Chanctonbury Ring and Devil’s Dyke on the South Downs. Permanent sculpture collection and exhibited sculpture throughout the season. Rare breed sheep and pigs. Tropical entrance garden. Sussex Prairies is open for the National Garden Scheme Sunday 10th September (1pm-5pm) Admission £10, children free. Home-made teas. Pay (cash only) on the day. Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors NGS is now the most significant charitable funder of nursing in the UK.
