Start time: 08:00 Informal men’s community breakfast meeting with a talk by Sir Mark Hedley, retired High Court Judge. Born in London in 1946 and went to university in Liverpool. After VSO in the northern Sudan he returned to Liverpool. Mark practised as a barrister for 21 years specialising in the law that affected those at the bottom of the social pile. He has lived with his family in a deprived part of Liverpool, being closely involved both in their parish church and in many community activities. Men’s Community breakfast takes place every month. He then became a local Circuit Judge for 10 years before being appointed a judge of the High Court Family Division. In that role he specialised in the law relating to children and the law of mental capacity. After 11 years in that post he retired and has since acted as a visiting professor in law at Liverpool Hope University. He has been involved in many church activities both as a diocesan chancellor and as deputy president of Clergy Disciplinary Tribunals.Admission Details
