Start time: 10:30 Explore how our ancestors prepared for winter with hands-on experiences, demonstrations, and more… Over this weekend the Museum will explore how we would traditionally get ready for the long winter months, by stocking up the pantry, filling up the wood store, and preserving the harvest. With demonstrations around the 40-acre site, you can learn how our ancestors used to salt, pickle, ferment, dry, and preserve our food. You can also discover how they kept warm and how their working day would change to the hours of daylight.
