Start time: 18:00 A bonfire by the lake, whisky by the flames and s’mores by the fire under a sky left to the stars. On Friday 6th November, Crafted at Powdermills is lighting a bonfire on the lake for Bonfire Blazing, on the very grounds where Battle’s first gunpowder mill was built 350 years ago. A handcrafted effigy will blaze at the heart as Hastings-based folk quartet Woodpig play by the water. With no fireworks, out of respect for the wildlife across Crafted’s 78 acres, the bonfire’s glow is left to reflect across the lake. Guests can expect Johnnie Walker whisky tastings, fire pit s’mores, a hog roast turning throughout the night and squash soup from the Crafted garden. And of course, no Bonfire Night would be complete without hot chocolate and sparklers on arrival.
