Start time: 13:00 Ashington Festival is a large village day, for all age groups of the community and surrounding areas The day starts at the Ashington Festival with a carnival parade through the village. On the showground we have a fun dog show sponsored by Arun Vets, a car boot sale, a classic car show and lots of stalls. Harris Brothers funfair, food outlets and a licenced bar. In the arena we welcome back ‘Stallions of Substance’ kindly sponsored by Sussex Equine Hospital. Also performing in the arena are the Medina Marching Band and Rhythm & Sole dance troupe. You will also be entertained and a chance to join in with children’s games and a Tug of War competition. On stage in the evening which is kindly sponsored by Cubitt & West, Ashington we have a welcome return of the ‘Smileys’ playing music through the decades and Diane James singing popular songs we all know and love. For the first time at Ashington Festival we welcome Mike Nova AKA Elvis and Ken Dee who is a comedy female impersonator. We end the evening with a fantastic firework display and a disco, making it a good day for everyone.
