Event Information

Next year, 2027, will be the 500th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, one of the strangest and most intriguing artists of all time. Arcimboldo worked at the court of the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolph II, one of the greatest collectors in history who acquired masterpieces by Bruegel, Titian and Durer.

This lecture examines Arcimboldo’s unique career in the context of his patron’s grand project of pursuing occult knowledge at the frontier of art and science .
The lectures are very popular and we kindly ask all members and guests to be seated by 10.30hrs as the lecture will commence promptly at 10.45 hrs.
The car park and surrounding roads can be busy so please allow enough time to park giving consideration to other users and our neighbours.
