Start time: 14:00 Dr Gina Criscenzo-Laycock will join Sussex Egyptology Society a talk on the Animals of Ancient Egypt On Saturday 27th January, at the Davison School For Girls, Worthing, Dr Gina Criscenzo-Laycock, Curator of the Garstang Museum at Liverpool, will be joining Sussex Egyptology society for their first lecture of 2024. She will be giving a fascinating talk on the Animals of Ancient Egypt. From large and scary, such as crocodile and hippopotamus, to smaller and gentler such as cat and ibis, animal life teemed throughout the valley of the river Nile in ancient times. Egypt’s people respected these creatures and observed them closely – and in many cases revered them as gods, as the beautiful and detailed art on the walls of the Egyptian tombs and temples amply demonstrates.
