Start time: 09:00 Advent and Christmas at the Chichester Cathedral celebrating the theme of ‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it’ Chichester Cathedral unveiled plans for Advent and Christmas, inviting the Chichester community, as well as others, to come together in celebration, responding to the theme of: ‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it’ (from John 1.5). A programme of services, music, visual arts and digital experiences to respond to the theme, selected by the Dean of Chichester, the Very Reverend Stephen Waine. On top of the Cathedral’s schedule of regular services, they are hosting a number of special services for Advent and Christmas. The history of art inside Chichester Cathedral spans almost as long a period of time as the history of the building itself. The Cathedral will present a combination of exhibitions to mark the festive season, such as Bruce Munro’s Field of Blooms and The Chichester Nativity Created by Curator Jacquiline Creswell, and Artist and Photographer Ash Mills.
