Stella and Toby are a middle-class middle-aged couple “sofa surfing” in their friends’ villa on the French Riviera. They are plagued by debt due to their gambling in the casino, at Bridge.
After a prolonged stay at the villa, they are about to be evicted, and everything seems to always be going wrong for them, when an unusual chain of events throws them an unexpected lifeline.
In the original production Noel Coward played Toby.
Two burglars break into a house in the middle of the night. They are disturbed by the occupants Helen and Adrian as they ransack the lounge. Watch and laugh as things then take a turn….
