Start time: 11:00 Meet and buy from Britain’s best designer-makers Come along to the Sussex Prairie gardens, just north of Brighton, for a craft fair. The exhibitors are some of the finest designer-makers and will be selling a wide range of handmade ceramics, textiles, basketry, jewellery and more. Their stalls will be dotted among the planting of this award-winning garden where thousands of herbaceous perennials form spectacular swathes. September, when the grasses and many of the flowers are at their peak, is the one of the best times to visit, making this a spacious, stress-free and truly delightful day out. Tea, cake and delicious lunches and savouries will also be available, and you can buy many of the plants you see in the garden at the on-site nursery, too. Tickets cost £10.
