Fairport Convention announce Winter 2023 UK Tour

Following a fantastically sunny and hugely successful Cropredy Convention in August, legendary British folk rockers Fairport Convention have announced dates for their Winter 2023 UK Tour, with a very special guest appearing on the Drummer’s Stool…

Kicking off at The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury on 1st February, the nationwide jaunt will take in 26 dates across the country, with special guest Dave Mattacks taking up residence back on the drum stool he vacated in 1998.

Mattacks featured as Fairport Convention’s longstanding drummer throughout most of the 70s, 80s and 90s. His drumming skills have been in demand ever since. Mattacks has contributed to numerous studio recordings by the likes of Paul McCartney, Brian Eno, Elton John and Nick Drake.

The Winter 2023 tour will take in over 26 dates across England and Wales, before winding up at The Connaught in Worthing on Sunday 5th March.

2023 will see Fairport Convention celebrate 56 years in business, and whilst the band has seen many changes in that time, one thing has remained the same – Fairport’s passion for performance. With more than half a century’s back catalogue to choose from, every show is a tour de force of British folk rock.
