V2 Radio Toy Appeal
Over 2,200 toys were delivered on December 17th to charities and organisations across West Sussex, including: the Children’s Ward at St Richards Hospital, Chichester, Sussex Snowdrop Trust, Chestnut Tree House, Children’s Services at West Sussex County Council.
The V2 Radio Toy appeal had been running for 6 weeks prior and listeners and businesses had donated toys at drop off points across the area. The toys are for less fortunate children this Christmas in West Sussex, who would otherwise go without.
Messages of Thanks and Praise
Milly Luxford, Breakfast Presenter at V2 Radio said: “Thank you to everyone that generously donated over the last few weeks.
“Thank you to our fantastic Sponsors, Knight Fencing and thank you all the incredible businesses that were our donation stations throughout our toy appeal campaign. We were inundated with toys and gifts for children less fortunate, and everyone’s generosity and kindness will really make a difference this year.”
Milly also wanted to thank local schools and their pupils who also did their own collections for the V2 Radio Toy Appeal.
Anna Drynan, a Social Worker for West Sussex County Council offered her gratitude: “After collecting the boxes which were delivered to us today from our reception – I can’t believe how many boxes there are! Thank you so much – we will get them out to our families as soon as we can.
“Thank you to all your listeners and to the staff for arranging to get them to us – the gifts will make a huge difference to Christmas for many of our children and families.”
