Despite very high winds Sussex Local’s Kris Thomas completed the Vitality Big Half in 2 hours 11 mins on Sunday 10th March.
The race is the ‘warm up’ for the London Marathon which takes place in April and saw a field of over 20,000 runners including Sir Mo Farah who successfully defended his win last year finishing the 13.1 miles in just 61 minutes and 14 seconds.
Kris was raising money for locally based charity Little Life Savers who teach children basic life saving skills. Kris said. “I really enjoyed running through London and the crowds were amazing, my legs were a bit wobbly at the end!” She continued “it was my first half marathon and I was pleased with my time especially as it was so windy”.
