Sussex-based The Only Camps are the local leaders in offering expert-led sports camp coaching for 4-18-year-olds. Offering a variety of sports camps – including two-day Sport Specific Camps in hockey, cricket, netball and rugby, and up to five-day Mini and Junior Multi-Sport camps for younger children – The Only Camps are unrivalled when it comes to the high quality of coaching that they make accessible to the children in Sussex.
In December 2020, The Only Camps took their camps to a whole new level with the introduction of their new style of camp, the Superstar Masterclasses. On these Masterclasses, sport loving children can ‘Learn From The Best’ by attending a specific sport camp coached by a world-renowned sporting legend. These Masterclasses deliver both a professional and enjoyable approach to development and a mixture of adaptive and closed-skill practice.
The guaranteed all-star line-up for the Masterclasses, run during every school holiday, has already featured many famous faces including Chris Robshaw (England Rugby), Tamsin Greenway (England Netball), Lewis Prosser (Captain of Wales Hockey) and Danni Wyatt (England Cricket).
The Only Camps director, ex-England and Harlequins rugby player, Jordan Turner-Hall, said: “We found the introduction of the Superstar Masterclasses a natural progression for the local children who have regularly joined our Multi-Sport camps over the years. The Masterclasses take our training to an even higher-level, gifting children quality coaching time with the stars they look up to and aspire to. Our goal has always been to keep children active, healthy, and engaged whilst they continue to develop their sporting skills. This has never been as important as during this past year, which is why we offered camps throughout the various lockdowns and in-line with government guidelines. We are still taking government and NGB advice very seriously to ensure the environment is safe for all the children that attend, as well as for our extremely talented and experienced coaches. We know we are training the next generation of sporting stars.”
The Masterclasses are quite clearly very popular with Sussex families as during the recent Easter holidays, each of the Masterclasses sold out with record numbers, including 130 attending the Rugby Superstar Masterclass hosted by England’s Danny Care.
This summer-half term, 1st – 5th June 2021, The Only Camps are offering a jam-packed schedule of camps which includes five Superstar Masterclasses in rugby, netball, cricket, hockey and hockey goalkeeping, and their eagerly awaited Superstars have today been announced.
