On Thursday 9 May, a special one-off auction of amazing items will be held at Bellmans Auctioneers in aid of Worthing-based charity, Care for Veterans.
Care for Veterans celebrates its centenary this year, and this unique event is being organised to mark and celebrate the 100th anniversary.
The auction promises to be an enjoyable soiree, with a drinks and canapes’ reception and entertainment by amazing magician, Tony Charles, before the auction starts at 7.30pm.
Some wonderful Lots have been donated to Care for Veterans for the auction, including a number of money-can’t-buy items, which include: your name as a character in a future Peter James thriller, a tour of the BBC and lunch with Nicholas Witchell, VIP hair experience at celebrity hair stylist Nicky Clarke’s London salon, Porsche driving experience at Silverstone, tours of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, signed Premiership football shirts, holidays abroad, weekend breaks, private wine and beer tastings and many more. There will be around 60 Lots in total and something to suit all people and all pockets.
Care for Veterans’ Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Elizabeth Baxter, explains, “We are extremely grateful to all who have donated these amazing items and to Bellmans for holding this auction for us. Not only are they running the auction, but they have also waived their usual commission charges, so that bidders only pay what they bid, and Care for Veterans will receive 100% of the hammer price! We really appreciate their generosity, as this means that all the money raised on the night will go towards the care and rehabilitation of our disabled veterans.”
The Centenary Auction at Bellmans in Wisborough Green will start at 6.30pm. Entry is by ticket only, but tickets are free. If you are unable to attend the auction, you can still get involved by placing a commission bid in advance of the evening or bidding online.
