What you want from a panto! Heaps of feel-good fun and genuine wow-factors

This traditional panto boasts an impressive new set with lots of lights, spectacular musical and dance sequences and a few new clever twists…. which we won’t spoil here!

Cinderella is a lavish production complete with wonderfully glitzy costumes, up-to-date songs and plenty of opportunity for audience participation.

The costumes become increasingly impressive as the show progresses, the ugly sisters’ outfits are hilarious throughout. It’s also great to be able to see the live orchestra on a raised platform at the back of the stage.

The kind-hearted Cinderella (“my friends call me Ella”) wins over the audience with her cheerful disposition. She continues to try to see good in her dreadful step mother and step sisters although they are vile to her.  Her friendship with the ebullient Buttons is charming and when she meets the Prince we can see she’s a modern, well-adjusted girl who doesn’t need a man to look after her! Some topical jibes are included for the enjoyment of the adults along with plenty of traditional ‘bad panto’ jokes we all love to hate.

All the cast sing really well, with Emma Lindars (The Fairy Godmother) being especially good. There’s a fun musical ‘mash up’ in the 2nd half with some lovely harmonisation.1091-036_c_Brinkhoff-Moegenburg

Directed by Julie Atherton, well known for leading roles in Mamma Mia! and Avenue Q, as well as recently directing Well Behaved Women at Cadogan Hall and GameTheaory at The Lowry, Manchester with the script provided by Samuel Holmes.

This year’s magical performance stars Siobhan Athwal (The Genie in Aladdin 2021) as Cinderella and her Ugly Sisters Flo and Tina by Antony Reed and Dan Smith ensuring there’s plenty of slapstick fun, popular songs and memorable moments.

Other cast members include Jonathan Carlton as Prince Charming, James Camp as Dandini, Alison Arnopp as Baroness Hardup, Niall Sheehy as Buttons and Emma Lindars as Fairy Godmother and together they will bring you an extraordinary show to enjoy this festive season.

“Cinderella will sweep you off your feet and carry you to the ball!” Highly recommended!

The pantomime is showing from 8th-31st December at various times. Ticket prices start at £15.00, check the website for daily times and prices.
