Plastic bottle Christmas tree switch on event

Bognor Light Switch

On Saturday 30th November local school girl Mia – star of our recent #MiaReycles campaign – will be turning on the lights of our very special Christmas tree outside of the Jack Wills store on North Street in Chichester.

The event starts at 4:30pm, and our Waste Prevention Team will be on hand to answer any waste reduction or recycling questions that you may have, along with refreshments provided by local restaurant and bar purchases.

The tree – created from 600 plastic bottles by artist Tracey Graham to highlight plastic recycling in West Sussex – is being brought back to Chichester by the West Sussex Waste Partnership, in association with Chichester Bid. The tree will be in place until Monday 6th January.

We would love for you to share your photos of the tree from the switch on event and over the Christmas period, just tag us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, and use the hashtag #Treecycled so that we can find all of the photos. Plus if you follow us on social media you’ll be able to see everyone else’s amazing photos too!
