Public online Q&A on sewage discharge to be joined by Southern Water

Online sewage panel event

Southern Water have agreed to join a public panel discussion that will look into sewage discharges and their impact on the local environment, online on Thursday 22nd September from 5.30 pm to 7 pm.

Chichester’s MP, Gillian Keegan has organised a panel discussion to enable members of the public to hear from the experts and put their questions to them. Gillian has invited panellists who will be answering questions from the Chair, and members of the public via a Q&A function.

The event will be addressing subjects such as

  • How can we end sewage discharges?
  • Who is responsible?
  • What is being done about it?
  • Can we reverse the damage?

Southern Water has confirmed its attendance as the organisation responsible for dealing with wastewater in East and West Sussex, Kent and the Solent.

Also attending will be representatives from both regulators, Ofwat and the Environment Agency. Gillian has also invited Natural England, the RSPB, and Chichester Harbour Conservancy Director, Richard Craven, who is leading Chapron, a ground-breaking multi-agency approach to environmental improvement in Chichester Harbour.

If you would like to join, register via the link on Gillian’s website homepage www.gilliankeegan.com or register here.
