When Zipporah came to a care recruitment event last year organised by West Sussex County Council, she had no idea that she would leave with a job.
Another of these special events has been arranged to give those living in and around East Grinstead the opportunity to meet care providers, find out about roles available and even apply for jobs.
This will take place on Thursday 22 February from 10am-12pm at East Grinstead Library, 32 – 40 West Street, East Grinstead, RH19 4SR.
Zipporah explains what she loves about her new role in care: “I’ve worked with young people all my life and this was my first time working with the elderly. It’s still fantastic!”
“Caring is about compassion, empathy and kindness. At the end of the day you feel fulfilled, because you know that something got done and you helped someone achieve something.
“There’s nothing more satisfying than that.”
Amanda Jupp, Cabinet Member for Adults and Health, said: “This event is an excellent opportunity for those living in the East Grinstead area to discover more about care work.
“Whether you’re serious about a new job or just want to find out more, I would really encourage you to come along. You never know where it could lead.”
