Climate Election Debate

Climate Election Debate

The #climateelection debate will be at Steyning Grammar School Drama Hall on Wednesday 27th November, and we’re expecting a strong turnout of 6th formers.

The candidates who have confirmed they are coming are:
Alison Bennett (Lib Dem)
Andrew Griffith (Conservative)
Bella Sankey (Labour)
Isabel Thurston (Green)

The debate will be chaired by Tony Whitbread, a member of Greening Steyning and President of the Sussex Wildlife Trust.

Doors and bar open at 7.00pm, so come early if you’d like to ask a question. Questions need to be submitted to the ‘Ask a Question’ desk by 7.30pm to be considered in the final mix. The debate kicks off at 8.00pm sharp.

Tickets cost £3 each. You can buy them from Steyning Bookshop, or book them online via:

80 free tickets have been reserved for Grammar School students, and these can be booked via this separate link:

Any profits from the evening will be going to the Steyning Grammar drama hall restoration fund.

How you can help

It would be great if you could help us publicise the event. You can share our Facebook Event on social media using the hashtag #climatehustings.

We’ll need a small band of volunteers on the night to help running the bar, checking tickets, and managing the question desk. It’ll mean arriving about 6.30pm on the night.
