Barnham and Eastergate Parish Councils merge together

Barnham & Eastergate Parish Council was established on 1st April 2019 following the merger of the previous Barnham Parish Council and Eastergate Parish Council.

At the elections held on 2nd May 11 Councillors were elected and signed their Declaration of Office at the first meeting of the new Council on 14th May.

The new Council structure will include Full Council meetings and a separate Planning & Environment Committee with meetings being held on Tuesday evenings at Barnham Community Hall for Full Council meetings and at Eastergate Village Hall for the Planning & Environment Committee meetings.  The meetings will commence at 7.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.

The Annual Parish Assembly for the Parish (the meeting for the electors run by the Parish Council on their behalf) will take place at Barnham Community Hall on Tuesday 28th May at 6 p.m. (for refreshments) with the meeting commencing at 6.30 p.m.  The items that are being placed on the agenda include the following:

Presentation – “Aldingbourne, Barnham and Eastergate Community Land Trust – how residents can become involved”.

Presentation and a discussion on the draft Strategic Plan for the new Council.
