Open your garden for the National Garden Scheme

People who are passionate about their garden can open it with the National Garden Scheme and share it with visitors.

By opening your garden with the NGS, you can join a community of like-minded garden owners and volunteers who are passionate about gardens. Share a day with visitors and help raise money for nursing and health charities. You decide when and how often you want to open your garden and you will be ably supported by the NGS team prior to opening.

Residents who have opened their garden

Nick Waters, Old Well Cottage, Angmering opened his garden for the first time in July – “We opened for the first time this year and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is important for us all to enjoy outdoor spaces, particularly given the difficult few years during the pandemic.

“The NGS is a wonderful organisation and we took great pleasure in helping raise vital funds for such worthwhile causes.”

Elizabeth and Ian Gregory, Cloud Cottage, regularly open their garden in Ashington. – “Opening for the National Garden Scheme is extremely rewarding. It has given us a huge amount of pleasure and has also given a lot of pleasure to our many visitors. We are proud to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile cause.”

Jennie & Trevor Rollings open their garden Channel View in Goring-by-Sea ‘By Arrangement’ – “There is nothing more special than sharing a garden that you love with other people and at the same time making money for such a worthy cause as the nursing charities of the National Garden Scheme.

“During the 15 years that we have opened our garden we have met many wonderful people and shared ideas which people have appreciated. They have particularly liked the fact that our garden is a normal size suburban garden which allows them to realise what they can achieve in their own.”
