Wellbeing Walk for Billingshurst residents
Billingshurst residents were joined on a recent Wellbeing Walk (arranged by Horsham District Wellbeing Service) by Billingshurst Neighbourhood Wardens and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service. During their stroll through Jubilee Fields country park, participants were able to see spring flourishing, discuss any local issues and talk all things fire safety.
Billingshurst Neighbourhood Wardens and West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service work closely to ensure all residents feel safe, independent, and supported in their homes. Through coffee mornings and walks with the community the team have secured ten recent referrals to the Safe and Well service.
A Safe and Well Visit is completely free. It involves a pre-arranged visit to your home by fire service personnel to offer advice on how to make it safer including fitting smoke alarms or other specialist fire detection equipment free of charge.
This collaboration means ten people in the Billingshurst area have recently had safety visits and free smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors fitted in their homes.
May is National Walking Month. Everyone is welcome to join Neighbourhood Wardens, Julie and Barry for a gentle 60-minute walk starting at Billingshurst Library on Thursdays at 11am.
