Local gymnastics club championship success
Local gymnastics club, Dyson Gymnastics, took part in the English tumbling championships in July, held in Telford International centre and came home with six national champions. Tumble gymnasts Indiana Sneath, Holly Sutton & Betty Geary all took golds in their respective levels and age groups, Flair Englishby & Shona Maswela took silvers, and Isla Barnes took a bronze.
The Hove based gymnastics club is situated in a purpose building at 101 Conway Street, Hove, and are very pleased with the gymnasts’ success.
Head coach and founder Sarah Dyson comments: “What a wonderful result from our tumblers first experience in a national competition. Now we have not one but six national champions; I’m excited to see what our tumble team can produce in the future as they work towards achieving higher levels with a hope of eventually taking part in international competitions.”
Dyson Gymnastics festivals and finals
The gymnastics club currently trains over 600 gymnasts aged between 2.5 and 18+ years old, covering a number of gymnastics disciplines but with a heavy focus on tumbling and festivals. Festivals teams are set to participate in Gymnastique Magique in Disneyland Paris in October this year and World Gymnaestrada in Amsterdam in August of 2023.
Three of the tumble squad have qualified to represent the southeast region at the regional finals in September this year alongside their lead coach Kerry Anderson who will be part of the southeast coaching team.
