A charity lottery has celebrated its seventh jackpot winner.
The Rockinghorse Children’s Charity Lotto £5,000 jackpot was won by Jean Street from Yapton in West Sussex. She matched all four numbers in the draw on Wednesday 10 July to claim the win.
Lottery manager Trevor Watson was joined by Rockinghorse Lotto agent Jeff Hayler to present the cheque to Jean. Ms Street was visibly moved upon receiving her winnings and couldn’t believe she had won.
She commented, “I’ve never won anything before, and I’m absolutely delighted to be able to support Rockinghorse in the process. I’m planning on spending some of the money on a new wheelchair.”
Jean is the seventh player to win the jackpot prize since the Rockinghorse Lotto launched in 2014. The charity lottery offers all-cash prizes with a jackpot worth up to £5,000. Players can take part for just £2 a week.
Rockinghorse raises money to make life better for sick and disadvantaged babies, children and young people in Sussex.
Proceeds from the Lotto are donated to local causes, supporting the charity’s projects at children’s services and paediatric units across the county. It is the official fundraising arm for the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in East Sussex.
